Okay, I've finally made a template for my fakedex design. I've done it in black and white because it's striking and I don't want people to make one like mine
It's also the colour of the new generation of Pokemon - which is the first one I don't like - it will probably take the time for the english version to come out for it to grow on me.


Anyway, it may be kind of patronising but I always get questions about how to do things so I've made it as simple as I could. Some explanation:

In the bottom right corner is an example of what the whole thing can look like when it's put together properly. I've made a 3x3 grid because it includes all 4 side and corner pieces and a generic piece.

I've put up the components separately so all you have to do is use the four corner pieces and then as many side and generic sections as you want. If you want to make a non-rounded fakedex just use the generic piece over and over again along with the side pieces.

All you have to do to put it together is copy it to a graphics program and arrange the 9 piece types into a pokedex formation. Obviously you'll need to make multiple copies of the generic pieces.

If you still have questions I'll try to answer them.

I've included my newest designs for the types including a few common fake types which I would advise against using. If you would like a list of reasons against using them here are my thoughts:

Light/Holy: as far as I see it this is covered in the games as it is. The dark type is not darkness as in shadows but dark as in sinister. Many dark moves are dirty tactics making the opposite of the dark type the fighting type. Grass also has some domain over light type moves and the psychic type seems to be considered a light substitute.
Wind/Air: it's the flying type. I know the type replaced the protoype bird type but flying already incorporates wind and air in its attacks.
Sound: Good as it sounds (don't comment on that) the type is too bizarre - even for Pokemon. It would be fine for attacks but a sound type Pokemon is an odd concept.
Cosmic/Space: I'm not against alien Pokemon but they seem kind of unnecessary.
Magic: Again, kind of unnecessary. Already covered by psychic and ghost.
Magma: Is a combination of ground/rock and fire.
Time: Not sure how this could be a type.
Ancient: Legendary may as well be a type if this is one
Mythical: All legendary Pokemon would have to change to this type.

I've only put up some of the fake types I've come across - I've seen some very bizarre suggestions for fake types including rubber and gun

That said I will make templates for fake types if people ask for them.
