Cyclops Pencils

Sorry about the quality of this, I really need a scanner.

So, this is something unusual for me - an actual drawing. This is the first of many (hopefully) Marvel characters, starting with the X-Men.

Unlike a surprising amount of people, I like Cyclops. Personality aside, he's got a pretty interesting powerset and backstory. Mostly I question what it must be like to see everything in red, and how he can fly a plane as he's effectively colour blind As a nerd, I'm always a bit annoyed when his blasts are shown to set fire to things (like in Wolverine Origins (unless he just hit something explosive)) because officially they're heatless. Apparently writers occasionally forget this. I'm rambling because it's past 4am

I really struggled to find reference for this, which is surprising with the amount of images of Cyclops on google/dA. I think the main problem was the angle I chose. I decided to go with his current costume with a few minor changes - I was going to do a completely new design but I thought I'd start off simple since I haven't drawn anything for months.

There are a few things I messed up on which resulted in his right hand being smaller than I'd have liked and I couldn't work out how to draw his left hand which is why it's in a bizarre looking fist.
