Art is Subjective Stamp

I decided to make this earlier in the week and started it tonight.

I guess this is important to me in some way because I'm part of a community which often feels under attack because some people don't consider what it creates art. I'm of course talking about the emote community.

Now I personally have never been told by anyone on dA that emoticons shouldn't be considered art. Actually I get a lot of compliments.

However, someone I know once said to me that they thought emoticons, animations etc. shouldn't be on dA because they don't consider them art. Obviously I protested against that and also said if anything didn't belong here then literature is the logical choice. I'm not saying that literature isn't art but considering that writing is often seen as separate from art, and animation is literally hundreds of drawings presented at once, I had to bring that up. I actually like writing btw, I just never submit anything serious.

So yeah, as the stamp says - it doesn't matter if every now and then someone says that what you've submitted isn't art - someone's bound to think it is and even if they don't at least you had your reasons for creating it
